Here's our scale model. The scale is 1/2" = 1'. The simulated foundation is simply 2x6 in a 20 inch square. The logs are 1/2 inch dowels. The rebar pieces are finishing nails.
Here's the first course of logs. I simulated the actual building process as closely as possible. I nailed my "rebar" into my "concrete" foundation wall, then drilled my "logs", placed them, and bent the rebar over. This is the only layer where rebar is bent like this, in order to keep the log "box" from jumping off the foundation in a earthquake.
Here's the second course of logs. (No, I won't post every course, lol.) Rebar pins are very 1 inch (2 feet). Rebar is driven through the pass log into the end of the butt log.
